Here's an update I've been putting for a while, haha. Things have been rather busy ever since I started a new job, but I've managed some productivity.

New shrines
Some of you may have already seen them in the [info]amassment post, but: these were my entries for the fanlisting/shrine marathon. I've become slightly obsessed with the machinima series Red vs. Blue in the past few months, and making sites to my favorite characters was kind of inevitable. Wash got finished first and is pretty much complete right now, past proofreading and the addition of some images. Church is still missing a couple of pages and the rest of his media section, and I'm hoping to finish those up in the next few weeks. Even so, they're both currently my largest sites, and ones I hope to maintain as the series continues (season 9 starts next week!). But man, it figures I'd get this tl;dr about RvB of all things...

I realize not everyone's heard of the series and there are enormous spoilers in both sites, so I highly recommend you check out the introduction first, and then you can go watch it. You'll thank me for it later, once you manage to stop laughing ;) (no I will not stop trying to make people watch it okay)

My computer's currently out of commission, so the sites haven't been added to elenen.org yet, but they will be once I can use Photoshop again and make buttons.

Fanlisting updates
I'm sure the first comes as no surprise, but I was offered to adopt two of my favorite Ayu songs from Hyony and am incredibly grateful ♥ RvB has a temporary layout for now (because logic is making two skins for a temp layout), but I'm fairly happy with the other two.

Coming up
I'm currently working on turning my RvB fanlisting into a fansite (also probably not a surprise), which I'd like to get up sometime before the end of July. Aside from that and a probable new one-pager, I've got enough sites now that revamping them to my current standards will keep me busy for quite a while to come.

Introducing uncontrol, my entry to the villains marathon at [info]amassment. This is a site I've been wanting to make for a year and a half, so I'm glad to finally have gotten the kick to make it. There are still several analytical pages I'd like to add to it (as well as a summary), but I'm happy with what I have so far. I imagine most people have never heard of the series, so I recommend checking out the introduction and reading the manga if you're interested. (The shrine gives away virtually all of the plot, so don't read through it first.)

As always, elenen.org has been updated. Next up, I need to start working on my submissions for the fanlisting/shrine marathon, but there's a chance something else might pop up before then. We'll see!

After much too long, I've given elenen.org a new layout. I had a lot of fun making it; I was expecting the CSS to be difficult, but it came together quite easily. (Of course, now that it fits every season, I'll probably end up leaving it up too long...) In any case, I'm pleased with how it came out. Just, uh, pretend syunikiss.org is like rhapsodos.org and actually has a layout. (It's on the to-do list, but there are a couple of other things I need to get to first. See below.)

There is now a network Twitter account, @elenen. If you have a Twitter account, feel free to follow it! Smaller updates will be made there and later collected into posts here.

New fanlistings
Both of these took an embarrassingly long time, but thankfully they're both done now. They were also both wishlisters, so I'm thrilled ♥ City of Ten has been updated accordingly. I'm planning on turning Balthier/Ashe into a shrine at a later date and have a couple sections completed already, but I kind of hate the layout (it gave me a world of trouble) and need to reorganize it. In any case, I won't get to it for a while.

Awards
I'm late mentioning it, but Shape the Future won [info]amassment's Non-Animanga Site of the Month in December. It also won Favorite Video Game Series at the 2010 Fansite Pageant. I am hugely grateful to the nominators and voters for picking it ♥ It now has a notice about Dissidia 012; I plan on making related updates sometime in April. Also, Heaven's Requiem tied for second place in the Favorite Overall Fansite category at the Fansite Pageant; I'm very flattered by the award. (I didn't know anyone had actually read it LOL)

Coming up
The villains marathon at [info]amassment will be coming to a close soon, and my immediate focus is completing my entry for it. Following that, I'd like to get Atropos finished up. I've signed up to turn my Ramza and Delita fanlistings into shrines for the fanlisting/shrine marathon, so that'll follow Atropos. Looks like I've got a busy couple of months ahead of me.

Time for some updates! I'm finished with NaNoWriMo, so I spent my Thankgiving being productive with web work. First up, a new fanlisting and a couple new layouts.

Last angel M Memorial address (take 2 version) FFVI OST

... I'm in something of a brown phase, what can I say. I am also really abusing that diamond pattern, but I think it came out well. Couple of notes:
  • Last angel: I'm really happy with how it came out ♥ It's quickly become my favorite Ayu song so I was beyond thrilled when I got the approval.
  • M: I got to hate the old layout after a while, so when I was going through my list of fanlistings that needed new layouts I could make with the offline resources I had, it jumped to the top of the list. Has been moved to syunikiss.org and now has a full PV cap gallery.
  • Memorial address (take 2 version): I'm not big on how it came out, but since it had a temporary layout up for way too long, at least it's something. Also now moved to syunikiss.org.
  • FFVI OST: Really happy with this one now. I edited the embarrassing old content to make it more informative, though it's still very obvious I have a whole lot of bias for this OST LOL
I also made a bunch of miscellaneous updates. I did a code update for some of Gackt fanlistings I moved to syunikiss.org a couple weeks ago - specifically, Fragrance, Justified, and Diabolos. In addition, I recoded part of Diabolos's header and added new codes. Both sides of Repeat This have been updated with button walls. Finally, Post-rock now has a brief about page, and I recoded Inception: [+] All Characters's footer so it doesn't bother me anymore. Rhapsodos.org has been updated with some notes about the state of the shrines there and what I have planned for them, though I don't expect it to happen until sometime next year. It's more of a notice for visitors than anything else.

Last but most certainly not least, someone was kind enough to nominate a few of my sites for the 2010 Fansite Pageant - specifically, Shape the Future, 20 years old, Heaven's Requiem, and Bittersweet Love (in two categories, what!). I'm very flattered (and surprised) and will be adding links to promote the pageant on them soon.

I think that's everything. Next up: that other upcoming fanlisting and plans for the next few months.

Fanlisting updates
Another fairly quick update, as I'm pressed for time. Opened two new fanlistings last month and updated City of Ten accordingly. Have some notes/thoughts about them:
- Inception: [+] All Characters: I like how the header came out, but I'm kind of bothered by the navigation placement; the top seemed too heavy with it up there, but it looks awkward where it is. Hmm.
- Post-rock: This was really interesting to make, because I had no idea what to use for images and ended up going with a texture and changing its colors around, then abusing the hovers. I guess it works? Also, you can tell I had fun with the name...

I have two more upcomings, which I need to get to at some point this month. When, exactly, is something I'll have to figure out later, as I'm currently very busy with real life commitments (not to mention NaNoWriMo), but I'm very excited about both ♥

Site moves + closings
Two of my domains expired recently (broken-mask.org and mydears.org), and Atropos has moved to elenen.org, which will now hold any anime/manga sites I make in the future. (One of which will be that one that's been sitting on my upcoming list all year, ahem; I'm doing it for the villains marathon I'm running at [info]amassment. And, you know, I need to finish Atropos.) Sadly, I've closed my Grimmjow shrine. I stopped following Bleach earlier this year and have since lost about all interest I once had in the series. The shrine is an unfortunate (but inevitable) casualty of that.

Lastly, I've moved my Gackt fanlisting over to syunikiss.org and made it a very quick new layout, as well as axed all of the content it had. (Everything that was up needed to be edited and expanded, and I figured it'd be more efficient to do it all at once when I have time later.) All of my Gackt song and album fanlistings have moved over there as well.

I've gotten lazy about updating again... There are a couple of new fanlistings (with thanks to [info]skyboxing for the first two buttons ♥) for Final Fantasy II, the Old Spice Man, and Mystina.
- FFII: I rather think it looks like the pictures just smashed themselves onto the layout, but I guess it works. Old-school games everyone has forgotten ftw?
- The Old Spice Man: This was inevitable. And so much fun to make. The navigation was kind of a failure, but ah well. Still needs an actual info page.
- Mysty! ♥ [info]abile offered me the fanlisting and I was more than happy to accept. The layout's the same for now, but I do have inspiration for a new one that I'd like to get done eventually.

rhapsodos.org, elenen.org, and City of Ten have been updated, as usual. I have two more upcomings, so I'll update about them when they're done, but things will be fairly slow around here through the end of the year, between my coursework and working on my novel (not to mention NaNoWriMo).

Productivity get! I have one new site, one revamped site, and two new fanlistings to plug.

First, my submission for the One Page, One Month event at [info]amassment, which I finished on Saturday. This site is one gigantic wall of tl;dr that I'm pretty sure no one will actually read, which is good because the writing is terrible. I'd like to go over it in about a month and edit it properly; right now I can't even stand to look at it. Although I do like the layout, which was the product of a lot of arguing with Photoshop. It is, uh, not dial-up or IE6 friendly, but I have given up catering to those people.

...And then this happened yesterday. I swear, I was going to take a break, but then I decided to organize what I had of the revamp so far and the next thing I knew I was finishing it. In brief: new layout, split it up into pages, updated the music section with their new releases, and wrote a new section on their PVs. I had a ridiculous amount of fun with the last; you may see this again on other sites. There is also a radio in case you missed the gigantic banner. Now you have no excuse not to listen to them. 8)

The second should come as no surprise, but I'm still shocked about the first one ♥ I got to adopt the Music of Final Fantasy fanlisting back in June, and I'm actually reasonably happy with the layout. It only made sense to put it where I had my video game music fanlistings. I'd love to add something more to it, but I'm a little stumped on what; the wikis linked on the about page tell you most of what you'd want to know. Maybe I'll try reviewing the different OSTs at some point...

That should be it. The relevant domains have been updated, as is City of Ten. Still posting mixes (I should probably link that on elenen.org later). Next up is the Stereopony revamp I've been promising for, oh, a year. This whole revamping business is taking me longer than expected, so domain layouts may come sooner rather than later.

This is that new project I mentioned in the wall of tl;dr in my last update: a music rotation! With a bit of commentary. I'll be using this as a replacement for my music blog, and from the fun I had getting it set up, I think I'm going to enjoy this. ♥ If you're interested, you can follow the blog from its LJ community, [info]reremixed (you'll need to join to see the posts). It'll be added to syunikiss.org's hiatus page soonish. (Also, apologies for the gigantic button/banner/thing. I kind of forgot to make any... I should probably get on that but idk who would actually want to link to it. Hm.)

Resisting urge to tl;dr more. I'm working on the revamp for 20 years old; hopefully I can have it finished soon. I start college back up again tomorrow, though, and I've only got one break between now and Christmas, so updates will very likely slow down. They'll still happen, but not very quickly.

Productivity get! I've been working on a number of things around the rewrite/history network lately, and though there's no big debut, there are some miscellaneous things I'd like to talk about. Massive tl;dr ahead.

New fanlistings

I was somewhat miraculously approved for the Fang/Vanille fanlisting a while back, to my absolute delight; their relationship is my favorite part of FFXIII. I'm pretty proud of the layout, since it came out almost exactly as I'd imagined it. The fanlisting also sort of doubles as a mini-shrine at present, as there are a few sections of content: an introduction to the game, the characters, and a look at their relationship. I'd like to expand it further, but not until I replay the game at some point in the future. For now, I'm satisfied with what's online.

And, well, there's Articuno too. I made the layout in a hurry, but I rather like it. Has the usual about page and picdex I do for all of my Pokémon fanlistings because I'm a masochist. It was pretty awesome to get approved for another one of my favorite Pokémon. Both of these fanlistings have been added to rhapsodos.org, along with other fanlistings that had yet to be added.

Shrine updates
Atropos, Bittersweet Love, and Never Stop Dreaming all got new buttons thanks to the Banner Trade Meme over at [info]amassment. I also went through each shrine and made minor spelling/grammar edits. Atropos still needs to be finished; more on that in a bit. Bittersweet Love is rather in need of rewriting, as I don't feel the content is as well-written as it could be; I'd like to get to that after I replay the game and finally add those humor sections. Finally, Never Stop Dreaming has one new section: an overview of her character. I wrote it for an RP application, but it's a fairly apt look at her personality as a whole, which is then further examined through the different sections of the shrine. I may reuse this idea foir other shrines; it's quite effective.

Fanlisting updates + collective reorganization
The fact is, my collective is kind of a mess. syunikiss.org and broken-mask.org have been on hiatus or dead for months, making it nigh impossible for visitors to actually visit the sites on the domain aside from those highlighted on elenen.org. As such, I've started working on reorganizing and revamping my sites, one domain at a time. Some are just getting code updates and moved, while others are getting those things I said to myself I'd do when I opened them and then never quite got around to. I started with syunikiss, since it was the most in need of it, and have moved and updated the coding on most of the fanlistings on the domain. In so doing, I made two placeholder pages for the song and album fanlistings on the domain.

I, uh, am still a masochist had fun with the hovers. even more tl;dr on updates made to these and other fanlistings at syunikiss )

and then this will happen (or, a to-do list in paragraph form) )

tl;dr: sites are being reorganized and revamped and I need to make updates more often to save myself from tl;dr. If anyone actually read all that blather I will be amazed. Oh, and it's elenen.org's first birthday! It's been a productive year for the network, but there's still lots to do.

15 March 2010 @ 12:38 am

Introducing Atropos, my tribute to Seishirou and Subaru of CLAMP's Tokyo Babylon and X and entry for the OTP marathon at [info]amassment. Since I spent February and half of March working on my novel, I didn't manage to write anything more than the minimum required for the marathon, but what I wrote turned into massive tl;dr, so I guess it evens out. (Seriously, it's almost as long as some of my current shrines...)

I'm hoping to continue working on it in the coming weeks, which is why I've left the list of upcoming sections up instead of keeping it offline like I usually do. I'm kind of in the zone to finish it now, so hopefully it won't take too long, but then again I'm an incredible procrastinator, so... we'll see. In any case, not planning on working on anything else (sans fanlistings) until it's done.

elenen.org and broken-mask.org have been updated with the new site. The latter still lacks a layout on account of the fact the one I was planning for it was supposed to match another upcoming shrine, but since I haven't worked on said upcoming shrine yet it's kind of on hold right now. We'll see how that goes after I finish Atropos. There are three new affiliates at elenen.org (which have taken me way too long to add, sorry guys!): iris-noire.org, serenity-skies.net, and valkryie.nu. Be sure to give them all a visit ♥

A couple of new fanlistings have been built in the past month: Ramza Beoulve from Final Fantasy Tactics, RADWIMPS, and Dexter: Season 4; City of Ten is up to date with all of them. I'm hoping to expand Ramza (and Delita) into shrines this spring, after I finish up Atropos and get a few other things out of the way. Let's hope the next few months will be productive!
